Band On The Run (2002-2012)
Made in transit, during fragments of time on tour between cities, this collection depicts the restless energy during a decade on tour with Ladytron, when photography began as a tour diary, but turned into something far bigger.
These images belong to another version of me: never staying still, rarely arriving, always between destinations. The photographs are random, portraits caught between sound checks, landscapes glimpsed from bus windows, crowds with no phones as far as the eye could see, surreal vistas glimpsed during a video shoot. I experimented constantly with different cameras, films, and techniques, each roll becoming a time capsule, to be opened months later.
Everything around me was transient, venues, faces, the cities that blurred together, but the camera remained constant. Looking back, these images captured not just places and people, but a particular state of my being: a bubble of touring life where every moment was unreal and temporary, and only existed because of the total absurdity of the situation.
What began as simple documentation evolved into something more urgent, a way of making memories from experiences magnified through the act of photographing. In the end, these photographs became the most reliable record of a time when nothing else stayed the same, including myself.
